Abstract

1,017,029. Inductors. A. B. TRENCH & S. S. HERSHOFF. Oct. 20, 1964, No. 42756/64. Addition to 1,007,569. Heading H1T. In the air-cooled reactor of the parent Specification a selected number of the single layer parallel connected coils are grouped tightly together to form layers 212-216 separated by cooling ducts. Each coil of a layer may be formed of a single helically wound conductor or by several conductors. The conductors may be varnished or insulated by fibre glass wrappings. The coils are each enclosed in resin-impregnated fibre glass wrappings and are subsequently heated so that the resin sets and forms each layer into a unitary structure. A capacitor may be connected in parallel with the reactor.
