A textile machine, particularly a knitting machine, has a fixed frame, a plurality of bobbin arms each having a first section attached to the frame and a second elongated section pivoted to the first for angular movement in a vertical plane, bobbin holders removably mounted on the second section and lockable at selected positions thereon and yarn guides adjustably mounted on brackets carried by the second sections for integral movement therewith. The second section 14 is pivoted to the first Section 10 at 14 and comprises a rod 29 supporting bobbin carriers 39, 40 attached to a plate 28 which engages the slot 27 in the block 10. Detents 31 on the block are engageable with upper and lower dogs on a U-shaped member 32 pivoted to the plate 28 and biased by a spring 34 on to engagement with the detents to hold the arm in its normal horizontal position or in a partly depressed position. When the arm is fully depressed to allow replacement of the bobbin, a bevelled corner of plate 28 engages the inner edge of the slot 27, a finger 52 on the plate 28 then engaging a micro-switch 48 secured to the hub 12 of the bobbin table to stop the machine. The arm has a rod 18 which enters the hub 12 and is held there by a screw 21. In a modification (Fig. 8, not shown), the block embraces and is attached to a rod extending vertically from the hub. A yarn guide eye 55 is adjustably mounted on a rod 56 carried on the free end of the section 10.
