Abstract

1,247,789. Knitting-machines. S. A. MONK . (SUTTON IN ASHFIELD) Ltd. 27 May, 1970 [4 June, 1969], No. 28295/69. Heading D1C. A yarn carrier system includes adjustable stops and yarn carriers driven from a rod by a box which permits relative movement of the rod when it strikes the stops. The carrier 2 is mounted on a box, slidable on carrier rod 12, and including upstanding bosses 19. Two sleeves 23 mounted on a rod 20 are biased towards the bosses by a spring 25, and engage a drive bracket 26 fixed to the rod. When the box strikes a stop, the spring permits further movement of the carrier rod 12. The stops (31, Fig. 1 not shown) are movable along the beds by fashioning screws and adjustable transversely thereto to engage one or more boxes. The box is held against the stop by the spring force which allows it to follow the stop when adjusted for widening.
