Abstract

1,009,251. Fluid-tight bags or cartons. JAGEMBERG WERKE A.G. Feb. 15, 1963 [March 3, 1962; Nov. 15, 1962], No. 6228/63. Headings B8K and B8P. A fluid-tight bag or carton made from a blank of paper or cardboard which is preferably coated on one or both sides with a heat-sealable synthetic plastic material, comprises a tubular body portion 1 having longitudinal fin-seams 6, 7, formed as shown in Fig. 14, and V-shaped end closures 2, 3 having fin-seams 4, 5 which together with the seams 6, 7 form a stiffening frame surrounding the carton. The closure 3 and rib 5 may be laid flat to form a standing surface (Fig. 13, not shown). The bag or carton is initially prepared in flat-form, appropriate for intermediate storage and transport, before erection to tubular form (Figs. 3-12, not shown).
