Abstract

1,008,702. Double twist device. K. NIMTZ. July 25,1963 [Aug. 14, 1962], No. 29418/63. Heading D1D. In a double twist spindle a nozzle 37 is provided to supply liquid, paste-like material or gas (e.g. water, wetting agents, antistatic preparations film forming substances especially of plastics emul - sified mineral oils, emulsified ester-compounds, waxes, steam, perfumes, chlorine, fluorine, hydrogen) to the interior of the thread storage disc 5 for the treatment of the thread 8. The storage disc which is mounted on a driving whorl 3 comprises an upper portion 5 closed by a plate 9 which leaves an annular gap 9a through which the nozzle 37 extends; guides 7 and 10 being provided in the storage disc for the passage of the thread. A central guide tube 16 together with the package support 28, package can 38 and package 24 are rotatably mounted in an upward extension 14 of the storage disc and are held against rotation by a number of co-operating magnets 30, 31. The balloon limiter 32 is closed at the bottom by a member 33 so that the treating medium ejected through the guides 10 is confined between the balloon limiter and package can 38, the treatment of the yarn thus being continued into the balloon. To facilitate threading up, the member 33 has a removeable section 40, the hinged supporting arm 42 of which is so linked to a whorl brake 4 and a valve 52 that on lowering the sections 40 the whorl is braked and the supply of treating medium stopped. These operations may also be initiated by a stop motion operating in the event of a thread breakage.
