Abstract
1,209,859. Double twist spindles. HAMEL G.m.b.H. ZWIRNEREI-UND SPINNEREIMASCHINEN. 17 March, 1969 [25 April, 1968], No. 13816/69. Heading D1D. A double twisting device wherein the yarn runs from a stationary supply bobbin through a guide 5 rotatably disposed above the bobbin then through a hollow spindle with a twisting member carrying the bobbin and the yarn guide, through an annular space 9 between the supply bobbin and a balloon limiting cover 8 coaxially surrounding the bobbin to a further yarn guide and a winding apparatus, is characterised in that the balloon limiting cover 8 has a continuous peripheral surface and there is a gas nozzle 14 positioned at the lower end of the cover 8 to direct a stream of gas into the annular space 9, e.g. during the threading up at the start of twisting. The nozzle has an elongated outlet cross-secion in the peripheral direction of the cover 9 and may have a radius of curvature equal to the average radius annular apace. The nozzle can be valve-controlled.
