Abstract

1321400 Delivery spindles; tensioning; waxing thread HAMEL PROJEKTIERUNGSUND VERWALTUNGS AG 19 April 1972 [26 May 1971] 18217/72 Headings D1D and D1F In a delivery spindle 3 in which the bobbin 6' is contained within a cover 4 which rotates therewith an extension pin 3' on the end of the spindle protrudes through a thread delivery opening 5 in the top of the cover to guide the yarn therefrom. The yarn is drawn from the spindle by a winding roller 8 and makes an angle α with the spindle axis. Variation of this angle determines the yarn tension and is affected by a spring loaded arm 14 which acts to maintain a substantially constant tension. The pin 3' may be made from or covered with paraffin wax or a ring of paraffin wax may be located in the yarn delivery opening 5 to coat the yarn with wax, see Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown).
