Abstract

1,007,001. Dynamo - electric machines. INTRON INTERNATIONAL Inc. June 14, 1962 [June 14, 1961 (2)], No. 22860/62. Head ing H2A. An electromagnetic motor comprises a rotor 41 of high permeability and low residual magnetism successively alignable with two pairs 40A, 40B and 40A<SP>1</SP>, 40B<SP>1</SP> of mutually angularly spaced electromagnetic windings alternately energizable by half-cycles of an A.C. source 42 through the inclusion in their circuits of respective oppositely poled rectifier diodes 44, 44<SP>1</SP>, together with two additional pairs 40C, 40D and 40C<SP>1</SP>, 40D<SP>1</SP> of windings which are similarly arranged and connected, but include in their circuits phase-shifting means for energizing the lattor pairs in staggered relationship to the former pairs. The means shown is a condenser 47. By adding to the rotor a secondary winding 48 connected to slip rings 481, 482, an A.C. load 483 may be fed with current whose frequency is stated to be half that of the source 42 when the rotor runs synchronously and that of the source when a flywheel 461 carried by the rotor shaft 46 is braked to a standstill by a lever 462. In a modification, a D.C. load instead is fed via a full-wave rectifier from the secondary winding.
