535,016. Control of A.C. motors. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., and LIDDIARD. H. W. C. Aug. 18, 1939, No. 23877. [Class 38 (iiii)] In braking induction motors by the application of D.C. excitation to the stator winding, means are provided whereby three components of excitation may be applied jointly or selectively, one proportional to rotor current and derived from current transformers CT through rectifiers R', another proportional to rotor voltage and derived from the rotor terminals through rectifiers R<2>, and an independent excitation derived from an exciter E<1>. All operate through manually adjusted resistances la, 2a, 3a on field windings 1, 2, 3 on a machine E the armature of which is, under braking conditions, connected to the stator of the induction motor M. Specification 518,476 is referred to.
