Abstract
978,809. Electric generators. R. KROMREY. Dec. 19, 1963, No. 50218/63. Heading H2A. An A.C. or D.C. generator has a pair of wound, radially directed armatures 12, 13 spaced apart on a common shaft 3 and cooperating with two axially directed stator field members 21, 21<SP>1</SP>. The stator field may be permanently magnetized (as shown) or carry exciting coils (Fig. 4, not shown). The machine may be self-exciting when it generates D.C. by means of a commutator situated between the armatures (Fig. 1, not shown). If A.C. is required the commutator is replaced by a slip-ring 22 and brush 23, the return being through the shaft. It is described in Fig. 4 (not shown) how a rectifying commutator may be used at one end of the machine to rectify the output of this embodiment.
