Abstract

782,251. Dynamo-electric machines ; transmitting mechanical power. ELEKTRO-MECHANIK GES. Feb. 14, 1956 [Feb. 14, 1955], No. 4641/56. Classes 35 and 38 (4). Current is supplied to a rotating member without the use of slip-rings by a device 18 comprising two polyphase stators 19, 20 producing opposite flux rotation, and a single rotor 23 whose winding 21 is influenced by both stator fluxes. Rotation of the rotor causes the voltage induced by one stator to rise and that induced the other to fall by an equal amount so that the total output of the rotor winding is unchanged. The rotor current is passed through a rectifier 26 and fed back through the hollow shaft to the load device, as shown, an electromagnetic clutch 14 or 15 of a reversible drive to shaft 17 from a motor shaft 10.
