[Class 35] The uppermost conductors in the rotor slots of an electric machine, especially a turbogenerator, are reinforced by superimposed additional conductors of a metal, e.g. non- magnetic steel, of greater strength than and having a coefficient of expansion at least as great as that of the copper conductors. It is stated that this permits thermal expansion of the conductors in spite of the friction due to their centrifugal pressure against the slot wedge.
