[Class 35] In a machine such as that described in Specification 462,974 having an auxiliary winding for improving commutation, the consecutive coils of the one winding being in one pair of slots being connected in parallel with consecutive coils of the other winding through the commutator segments, the auxiliary winding is of one-third the complete polo-pitch, as in the above-mentioned Specification, but the coils of the main winding are one slot pitch short of the complete polepitch, the object being to reduce circulating- currents.
