Abstract
1,079,961. Winding-layouts for dynamoelectric machines. MAWDSLEYS Ltd. Feb. 11, 1964 [Nov. 12, 1962], No. 42588/62. Heading H2A. The stator of a dynamo-electric machine, e.g. an induction motor, has two separate threephase windings M, N, in the same slots, at least one of these windings having every coil brought out to terminals so that the effective coil-pitch of the whole stator winding may be altered, for demonstration purposes, by changing its connections. As shown, the winding coils M1, M2 . . . and N1, N2 . . . are fully pitched, the latter being brought out to terminals A2, B2, C2. By connecting coils M1, M2, to coils N5, N6, as shown, an effective chording of <SP>2</SP>/ 3 is produced. Alternatively a chording of 1/3 may be produced. In order to obtain a finer increment of chording, the winding which is brought out to terminals may be divided into two windings in separate layers. If desired, both windings may be subdivided. Each winding may be short-chorded, and single or double-layer coils may be used.
