Abstract

1,004,688. Compressed air engines; compressors. M. G. MARTINEZ. June 18, 1962 [June 30, 1961], No. 23326/62. Headings F1M, F1N and F1S. In a compressed air engine, air inlet and air outlet ports are formed in the gudgeon pin 13, the ports being relatively angularly offset along the length of the pin. The pin may be rigidly attached to the connecting rod 12. The direction of rotation of the engine may be reversed by reversing the functions of the inlet and outlet ports. There may be exhaust ports in the cylinder wall controlled by the piston. A fourcylinder air motor in which the four pistons all co-operate with a single crank is described. It is stated that the motor may be used as a compressor.
