Abstract

The engine or pump (1) has three pivotally mounted pistons (4a), (4b), (4c) which co-operate with the cylinders (3a), (3b), (3c) which have concave end flanges (5a), (5b), (5c) sliding on the outer surface (6) of the loose ring (7) mounted on the crankpin (8). The loose ring (7) has longitudinal ribs (10a), (10b) (10c) which limit its rotation by abutting against the sides of the flanges (5a), (5b), (5c) so that the ports (12a) (12b), (12c) always communicate with the cylinder ports (11a), (11b), (11c). The crankpin is cut away on opposite sides to provide two chambers: (13), (14) which connect the ports (12a), (12b) (12c) in the loose ring (7) alternately with the inlet port (15) and outlet port (16) in the crankpin (8).
