Abstract

983,135. Revolving cylinder engines and pumps; compressing gases etc.; compressors. NORTHERN DAIRY ENGINEERS Ltd. Jan. 24, 1964, No. 3272/64. Headings F1A, F1B and FIN. In a revolving cylinder engine, pump, or compressor, the piston connecting members 11 have slipper-like ends engaging in a grooved eccentric ring 8 rotatable through an antifriction bearing 19 on an eccentric crank-pin 39. The cylinder block is formed in halves 31, 32, bolted together and rotates inside a stationary casing having an annular member 35 bolted between side plates 36, 37. The stationary crank-pin 39 may be adjusted to vary top-dead centre position; an adjustable eccentric may also be provided on the crank-pin to vary the stroke of the pistons. Cooling air or liquid may be drawn in through ports 42 by vanes 43 on the cylinder block and passed out through radial ports in the member 35. The pump or compressor shown in Fig. 2 has an intake port 15 and outlet port 20. A two-stroke internal-combustion engine is also described with adjacent inlet and exhaust ports situated diametrically opposite to a spark plug.
