Abstract

Non-ageing low carbon steel sheets for enamelling are obtained by producing a steel containing <TABS:1004155/C6-C7/1> rolling it to sheet, and then annealing under such conditions that the carbon content is reduced to less than 0.02%. Hot rolling may be carried out above and below the hot-brittle range of 930-1050 DEG C., and the annealing may be carried out at 620-900 DEG C. in a hydrogen atmosphere containing not more than 30% by volume of water vapour.
