Abstract

1,003,402. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. Aug. 30, 1963 [Aug. 30, 1962], No. 33273/62. Heading B8A. The lower end of a conduit portion 16 of an endless scraper conveyer is provided with means for injecting air under pressure into the conduit. Sand or other fine solid material being conveyed is thus prevented from accumulating in bulk at the bottom of the upwardly inclined portion 16. Air nozzles 24 each comprise adjustable air discharge passages and are supplied via pipes 25 with air which may be at a pressure of the order of 80 1b/square inch. An inert gas, e.g. nitrogen, may be used in place of air. Sand is fed in to collecting shoots 20 and is discharged into a hopper 21. The endless conveyer member is provided with a drive unit 18 and an idle sprocket unit 19. Specification 647,247 is referred to.
