Abstract

La présente invention se rapporte à un dispositif de collecte et de distribution de lumière destiné à mesurer la dispersion Raman à partir d'une grande zone d'un échantillon. Le dispositif de collecte et de distribution de lumière comprend une cavité réfléchissante composée d'un matériau ou ayant un revêtement de surface ayant une réflectivité élevée à la lumière d'excitation et à la lumière dispersée Raman. La cavité réfléchissante comporte deux ouvertures. La première ouverture est configurée pour recevoir la lumière d'excitation qui se projette ensuite sur la deuxième ouverture. La deuxième ouverture est configurée pour être appliquée près de l'échantillon de telle sorte que la cavité réfléchissante forme sensiblement une enceinte couvrant une grande zone de l'échantillon. La lumière d'excitation produit de la lumière dispersée Raman à partir de la zone couverte de l'échantillon. La cavité réfléchissante réfléchit toute lumière d'excitation et toute lumière dispersée Raman provenant de l'échantillon à moins que la lumière d'excitation et la lumière dispersée Raman n'émettent depuis la première ouverture pour être mesurées avec un dispositif à spectromètre, ou soient redispersées par l'échantillon au niveau de la deuxième ouverture. La multi-réflexion de la cavité réfléchissante améliore considérablement l'efficacité d'excitation de la dispersion Raman provenant de l'échantillon et améliore en même temps son efficacité de collecte. De plus, elle amène également davantage de lumière d'excitation à pénétrer dans un échantillon à dispersion diffuse et permet une collecte efficace de la lumière dispersée Raman générée de celui-ci, permettant donc une mesure de dispersion Raman de sous-surface.
