Abstract

The assembly method is for a solid wooden house consisting of posts and joists fitting together by dovetail joints. The joists have tongues fitting in mating grooves running for the entire height of the posts. The components of the roof framework such as the main (16) and principal rafters rest directly and solely on stringers (15) fitting in the topmost joists (3). These stringers have tongues at the ends similar to those on the joists, engaging in the grooves in the posts (1), so that all the roof weight is transmitted to the joists.
