Abstract

Les ions nitrite sont transformés en ions nitrate par oxydation au moyen de peroxyde d'hydrogène dans la gamme faiblement acide du pH. L'addition de peroxyde d'hydrogène est contrôlée automatiquement par le fait qu'au cours du déroulement de la réaction d'oxydation, le peroxyde d'hydrogène est ajouté de façon continue ou par fractions successives dans des conditions de mesure constante du pH et par le fait que l'addition est interrompue lorsqu'elle ne provoque plus un nouvel abaissement de la valeur du pH. Par le contrôle de l'addition de peroxyde d'hydrogène suivant la variation de la valeur du pH, on est assuré qu'une quantité suffisante de peroxyde d'hydrogène sera certes ajoutée pour que l'on obtienne une décontamination complète des eaux résiduaires, mais que d'autre part il ne sera pas gaspillé de proxyde d'hydrogène inutilement.
