Abstract

Dans ce moteur, la majeure partie du volume de chaque chambre de combustion se trouve dans le piston correspondant. Ce moteur est caractérisé en ce que l'injecteur 36 est situé dans la paroi latérale du cylindre 12, au voisinage de la culasse 20 en ce que la partie de la chambre de combustion 42 ménagée dans le piston 14 est concentrée dans une partie du haut du piston 14, en ce que la culasse 20 du cylindre 12 contient une pré-chambre d'allumage 30 située du côté opposé à l'injecteur 36 et dans laquelle passent les électrodes 32 d'une bougie d'allumage 34, et en ce que l'injecteur 36 est conformé et orienté de manière à diriger au moins une partie du carburant dans une zone voisine de la pré-chambre 30, constituant une partie du volume de la chambre de combustion.
