Abstract

Procédé de préparation de particules de fer ferromagnétiques aciculaires ayant les propriétés désirées, par réduction d'hydrate d'oxyde ferrique aciculaire, présentant à sa surface un cation alcalino-terreux, choisi parmi le calcium, le strontium, et le baryum, et un anion d'un acide mono-, di- ou tri-carboxylique aliphatique, ayant jusqu'à 6 atomes de carbone, ou un composé organique renfermant au moins deux groupes capables de former des chélates avec le cation alcalino-terreux, avec de l'hydrogène, à une température comprise entre 275 degrés et 380 degrés C. L'hydrate d'oxyde ferrique aciculaire utilisé présente un rapport longueur/épaisseur d'au moins 15 et il renferme au moins 70 % en poids de lépidocrocite. Application à la fabrication de supports d'enregistrement magnétique.
