Abstract

Moteur à combustion interne à course alternative, à allumage commandé et à stratification de charge. La plus grande partie de la charge est envoyée par une soupape d'admission à une chambre de combustion principale sous la forme d'un mélange pauvre en carburant, et le reste est envoyé sous forme de carburant à une chambre de combusion auxiliaire comportant une bougie d'allumage, la chambre auxiliaire étant reliée à la chambre principale par une ouverture. Le carburant est envoyé dans la chambre de combustion auxiliaire dans un intervalle compris entre la position de 100 degrés d'angle du vilebrequin avant le point mort bas pendant la course d'aspiration et 90 degrés d'angle du vilebrequin avant le point mort haut pendant la course de compression.
