Abstract

The fastener is punched from thin metallic sheet. A piercing, acute angled, triangle (1) is followed by a thin forming strip (2) which joins onto a stop piece (3), normally of width greater than the triangle. The length of the joining strip is compatible with the total thickness of sheets to be joined. The stop piece (3) can be coplanar with the triangle, or orthogonal to it, and may be punched in a variety of shapes. The triangular head is forced through the sheets by pressure. The fastener is particularly for joining metal coverings used in thermal insulation systems.
