Abstract

The clip (1) is bent from a flat piece of thin material and has one long side (10) with an outwardly turned edge (11). A projection (12) at each end of and at right angles to the long side, is folded back on itself, so that two prongs, each with an outwardly turned end (13) are formed. The cross section of the clip is thus a narrow V at each end. In use, the metal faces of walls to be joined are brought together and the open end of the V clip placed across the edges. On forcing the clip in, the prongs pass between core insulation (20) and walls (21), which are drawn together. A layer of insulation (22) generally placed between the metal faces is automatically retained by the clip.
