Abstract

The fitting consists of two identical parts (7), formed from flat strip material and held together, facing each other, by a screw (3) and nut (14). A helical spring (15) is fitted on the screw between the two halves, to open the fitting when dismantling. Each half carries a hook (11) formed from the central part of the strip at one end, extending outwards, parallel to the screw axis. The portions of the strip (8) on either side of the arm are bent inwards. At the other end the strip is bent slightly inwards (10) and extends a distance from the screw. A short slot (18) is cut in the web (3) of the horizontal element (2) to clear the screw and the fitting is inserted, long ends (10) first, so that one half is on each side of the web.
