Abstract
On a head motor is a probe converting the position of a controller into a d.c. fed to the control winding of a magnetic amplifier which has its power winding in series with a limit circuit and connected through a rectifier to a train line. Each vehicle motor is a receiver circuit with two amplifiers whose control windings are in series with the train line. The power winding of the first amplifier passes control signals to a brake and the second, self-saturating, amplifier has a polarising winding supplied by an auxiliary d.c. supply and controlled by a third amplifier, the power winding of the second amplifier feeding control signals to a traction device.
