987, 886. Magnetic tape record apparatus. TELEFUNKEN PATENTVERWERTUNGS-G.m.b.H. Feb. 21, 1962 [Feb. 24, 1961], No. 6728/62. Heading G5R. In a magnetic tape apparatus a guide roller or pressure roller frictionally driven by the tape has a toothed wheel acting as an inductive pulse generator for the purpose of measuring the speed of the tape and utilizing such information for control or adjustment purposes. In Fig. 1, a guide roller 9 has a turned over flange 11b with teeth 11z thereon which coact with stator teeth 2z associated with a stator winding 2c. In Figs. 2a and 2b, a toothed wheel 14 on a pressure roller 12 coacts with a pole plate 15 carrying windings 16.
