Abstract

1,203,486. - Measuring thread in winding. SIEMENS A.G. 7 June, 1968 [16 Nov., 1967], No. 27329/68. Heading D1F. [Also in Division G4] The length of thread 1 fed by a pulley 2 is determined by counting pulses produced by a hall plate 4 co-operating with a magnet 3 carried by the shaft, the hall plate voltage being squared 5, frequency divided 6, and used to drive a step-by-step motor 7 which, in turn, drives the counter. The counter may be preset to a required length and used to stop thread feeding when the required length has been fed.
