PURPOSE:To simplify a driving mechanism by removing a slip mechanism by bringing a motor under constant-torque control and constant-tension control. CONSTITUTION:A motor 11 drives a reel turntable 22 through a transmission mechanism 15. The outpt signal of a torque detector 12 fitted to the transmission mechanism 15 and a torque set-value signal inputted through a swtich S1 are inputted to a comprator 13. According to the output of the comparator 13, an amplifier 14 controls a current fed to the motor 11 to hold the torque of the motor 11 constant. A multiplier 18 finds the product of a counter electromotive voltage by a voltage detector 16 when the motor 11 is rotating and a fed current obtained by a current detector 17. A tension setter 20 sets tension in stationary mode and the output of comparison 19 between the output of the setter and that of the multiplier 18 is used as a torque set-value signal. A torque setter 21 sets torque in fast-forward and rewind mode and its output is used as a torque set- value signal.
