Abstract

The fitting screws onto an opening in the tank, and has unions for a pump suction and a return pipe, together with a suction chamber connected by hose to the tank interior, particularly used where tanks are grouped in a set. The return pipe union opens into a vent chamber, connected by a passage to the suction chamber. The passage is so dimensioned as to allow a rate of flow equal to that through the suction piping. At the highest point in the vent chamber, a nozzle-type vent drilling can be provided, connected via an overflow pipe to a collector vessel. The overflow pipe can be in the form of a tube protruding into the vent chamber and connected to the interior of the tank, the vent aperture being situated in its top end.
