Abstract
596,763. Centrifugal pumps. BROWN, R. M. B. Aug. 2, 1945, No. 19931. [Class 110 (i)] An automatic priming device for a centrifugal pump dealing with sewage &c., comprises a lower priming container B having a pump impeller casing A attached underneath and having an outlet aperture C connecting directly with the impeller inlet, together with an upper container J fitted with a float-operated air release valve K. The upper container J is connected to the pump discharge by a branch pipe H, thus allowing only a part of the discharge equivalent to the volume of the upper container to be admitted during each cycle of operations.
