Abstract
Improvements introduced into compact pump and air separator apparatus for liquids, said apparatus having a housing having inside it the first, second and third cavities, the cavities being interconnected, and the housing also having an inlet element in communication with said first cavity; a pump placed in said first cavity; an air separator placed in said first cavity and in communication with the outlet of the pump; said third cavity including an outlet to the atmosphere to discharge the air received from said Separator Se air and said cavity also being connected by a valve to said first cavity to return liquid from the suction side of said pump; said improvements being characterized in that said first cavity in the discharge part of said pump has a shape such that it forms a vertex and said air separator includes a scrubber tube concentric with the axis, said vertex to receive air and steam and a small percentage of liquid, said scrubber tube being discharged into said third cavity.
