Abstract

The false twist bush driven pref. by a drive tape has an annular twisting insert of wear-resistant material having a curved inner surface, and yarn passes around a movable guide (pref. a freely rotatable roller) before passing to the false twist bush, the position of the guide determining the arc of contact between the yarn and the curved inner surface of the twisting insert. Alternatively, the guide may comprise a second false twist bush off-set from the first false twist bush. The degree of texturing of the yarn can be accurately controlled.
