Abstract

1401489 False twist crimping; twist stopping SPINNER OY 20 Nov 1972 [19 Sept 1972] 53560/72 Headings DID and D1F In a false twist crimping machine comprising a first filament drawing device 2, a twist stopping device 3, an oven 4, a false twister 5, a second filament drawing device 6 and a wind-up means 7, the twist stopping device 3 comprises a rotatable annular groove 9 in which the filament 1 is gripped to stop twist travelling back to the drawing device 2. The groove is preferably provided on the periphery of a roller 8 which is preferably driven by the drawing device 2 by a belt such that the speed of the filament in the twist stopping device at least equals the speed of the filament in drawing device 2. The groove 9 in the device 3 is preferably formed of two O- rings 10, 11 of rubber positioned on the roller. It is also preferred that the filament runs in the groove 9 at least a distance equal to “ the length of the groove.
