1387627 Opener roller PLATT INTERNATIONAL Ltd 2 May 1972 [3 May 1971] 12705/71 Headings DID and D1N [Also in Division F2] An opener roller in an open end spinning device comprises an outer surface helically wound with toothed wire in a number of convolutions and spacing means 18, separate from the toothed wire, spacing apart at least some of the convolutions. As shown, the spacing means may be the ribs between portions of a helical channel in the surface of the roller. The roller may be provided with integral or separate end flanges 23.
