Abstract

1286982 End catchers TEIJIN Ltd 17 Sept 1969 [18 Sept 1968] 45928/69 Heading DID [Also in Division F2] In apparatus guiding a number of threads 6a, 6b, 6c from, e.g. a drafting machine to a winding machine, snarling of a guide roller by a broken thread end is overcome by mounting two identical driver rollers 5a, 5b on a rotatable disc 4, so that when a broken thread end wraps round roller 5a, the disc 4 may be rotated manually or by gearing, and the running threads pass over roller 5b whilst the operator can disentangle the broken thread on roller 5a. A clutch device may be provided to disconnect the drive to the inoperative roller (Fig. 6, not shown). Before passing over the driven roller, the thread preferably passes around a fixed freely rotatable or driven roller 3, having a rough surface, and/or a diameter smaller than that of the rollers 5a, 5b.
