Abstract

1,167,710. Knitting-machines. K. I. J. ROSEN. 25 Sept., 1968 [25 Sept., 1967], No. 45555/68. Heading D1C. Yarn 1 is fed to a knitting machine by a driver roller 5 about which the yarn is wrapped after having passed between spring- loaded tensioning discs 7 which brakes the yarn. The yarn is then guided through a guide 21 on the end of an arm 15 of a lever the other arm 13 of which is spring-loaded and has an end 17 engaging between the discs 7 such that in the event of excessive tension in the yarn the braking effect of the discs is reduced and the roller 5 delivers the yarn more readily. Consequently a rate of delivery is maintained in conformity with the tension in the yarn. Instead of the guide 15 a pair of rollers secured to the arm of the pivoted lever cooperating with a fixed roller and about which the yarn passes can be used.
