Abstract

1315476 Braking supply reels CONTINENTAL-GUMMI-WERKE AG 19 April 1971 [4 March 1970] 22824/71 Heading D1J A brake for a yarn supply spool comprises a pivoted straight brake lever 7 carrying a dancer roller 9 over which the thread 13 from the spool 3 passes, a guide 15 through which the thread passes before passing over the dancer roller 9, a weight 10 slidable along the brake lever 7, and a brake band 2 attached by a spring 6 to the brake lever 7 intermediate its fulcrum and the weight and arranged to act directly or indirectly on the spool 3. Stops 12 limit the angular movement of the lever 7. By correct selection of the position of the weight 10 and the point at which the spring 6 is coupled to the lever 7 the braking force on the spool 3 can be made inversely proportional to the tension in the thread.
