Abstract

1,243,842. Knitting-machines. FRANZ MORAT G.m.b.H. 23 Aug., 1968 [13 Sept., 1967], No. 40481/68. Heading D1C. A thread feeding device comprises a sleeved roller rotated at a peripheral speed substantially higher than the linear speed of the thread during stitch formation, and having a predermined coefficient of friction so that the sleeve only entrains the thread when tensioned during stitch formation. Slip occurs when the yarn slackens. The sleeve may be changed for one of a different frictional coefficient and/or diameter.
