Abstract

1,237,718. Braiding-machines. NORTH AMERICAN ROCKWELL CORP. 10 Dec., 1968 [6 July, 1967], No. 31275/67. Heading D1C. A bobbin carrier comprises a toothed sleeve 96 which is engageable with a similarly toothed member 36 associated with the bobbin but is releasable from it by a thread tension member 71. The base of the bobbin is held keyed to the member 36, which is permitted to rotate in one direction only, by a releasable clip 52 (see also Fig. 7) at its upper end. The sleeve 96 is urged into engagement with member 36 by springs 105 acting on ring 106 pivoted at 111 to the sleeve and at 107 to the carrier base. The thread is entrained around a pulley 67 on the tension member 71 which is urged downwards against springs 82, 85 by the tension so that a depending rod 116 engages the edge of the ring and releases the bobbin.
