Abstract

1488286 Openers SCHUBERT & SALZER MASCHINENFABRIK AG 29 Sept 1975 [11 Oct 1974] 39703/75 Heading DIN An opener for an open end spinning device comprises a thin walled wear resistant insert 4 facing the opening roller circumference within a housing 1 and having openings in the vicinity of the openings 12, 13, 14 in the housing. The openings in the insert 4 may be smaller than those in the housing. The insert may be made of spring steel or treated aluminium and be held in place by welding, soldering or adhesive. When the insert is a steel strip, the ends may be located between openings 10, 12 in the housing. The insert may partly define a crescent shaped space in front of the feed duct 10. A dirt separating opening 14 may be provided.
