Abstract

1363055 Yarn traverse mechanism MONSANTO CO 6 March 1973 [8 March 1972] 10712/73 Heading D1J A yarn traversing mechanism comprises:- (a) a yarn engaging finger 34; (b) means 38 supporting the finger 34 for movement in a closed path between the yarn source 22 and the yarn winding means 26, said path including first and second generally parallel straight segments connected by first and second arcuate end segments, the first and second segments being generally parallel to the yarn winding axis; and (c) guide means 36 for maintaining the yarn 20 in contact with the external surface of the finger 34. An auxiliary traverse mechanism 32 may be disposed between the primary traverse mechanism 30 and the winding means 26. The winding means 26 may be driven by a drive roll 28.
