CONSISTE EN LA REACCION DE REDUCCION CON BOROHIDRURO ALCALINO DE UNA SAL DE NIQUEL QUE CONTIENE MENOS DE 6 MOLECULAS DE AGUA DE CRISTALIZACION, TAL COMO DIHIDRATO DE CLORURO DE NIQUEL, AL MENOS PARCIALMENTE DISUELTA EN UN DISOLVENTE ORGANICO POLAR VOLATIL, EN PRESENCIA DE UN POLIMERO ORGANICO LINEAL QUE CONTIENE GRUPOS VINILPIRROLIDONA, AL MENOS PARCIALMENTE DISUELTO. LA REDUCCION SE LLEVA A CABO EN ATMOSFERA DE HIDROGENO O DE GAS INERTE, A UNA TEMPERATURA COMPRENDIDA ENTRE 0JC Y 80JC. ESTE CATALIZADOR TIENE APLICACIONES PARA PROCESOS DE HIDROGENACION, TALES COMO LA HIDRONEGACION DEL ACEITE DE SOJA.
