COMPRENDE: A) HIDROLIZAR ALCALINAMENTE UNA SOLUCION DE CERA DE CAFE CON UNA BASE FUERTE COMO HIDROXIDO SODICO O POTASICO, EN PRESENCIA DE AGUA, PARA OBTENER SEROTONINA; B) ACETILAR A LA SEROTONINA CON ANHIDRIDO ACETICO, PARA DAR LA N,O-DIACETIL Y LA N-ACETIL SEROTONINA; C) EXTRAER LOS N,O-DIACETIL Y LA N-ACETIL SETONINAS DE LA SOLUCION CON ISO-BUTANOL; D) CONCENTAR LA FASE DE C), PARA CONSEGUIR UN ACEITE CON LA N,O-DIACETIL Y LA N-ACETIL SEROTONINA; E) HIDROLIZAR ALCALINAMENTE A D), EN ALCOHOL, A UN PH 11 Y ENTRE 15JC Y 50JC, DURANTE 15 A 60 MINUTOS, PARA REALIZAR LA N-ACETIL SEROTONIA; Y F) METILAR A LA N-ACETIL SEROTONINA EN LA POSICION 5 CON UN SULFATO DE DIMETILO Y A UNA TEMPERATURA DE 45JC, PARA OBTENER METALONINA QUE SE PURIFICA POR CRISTALIZACION.
