CONSTA DE LAS SIGUIENTE ETAPAS: 1 OXIDACION DE D-GLUCOSA A ACIDO D-GLUCONICO O BIEN A M-GLUCONATO ALCALINO. 2 TRANSFORMACION DEL GLUCONATO OBTENIDO POR MEDIO DE HIPOCLORITO EN D-ARABINOSA. 3 TRANSFORMACION DE D-ARABINOSA EN D-RIBOSA CON UN COMPUESTO DE MOLIBDENO. 4. HIDROGENACION DE D-RIBOSA EN PRESENCIA DE NITROXILENO O DE XILIDINA. 5. TRANSFORMACION DE ESTE AZOCOMPUESTO POR REACCION CON CIDO BARBITURICO EN RIBOFLAVINA. LA HIDROGENACION SE EFECTUA ENTRE 50 Y 80 C Y UNA PRESION DE HIDROGENO DE, APROXIMADAMENTE, 3 BARES, CON UN CATALIZADOR DE CARBONO-PALADIO.
