LA SUPERFICIE DEL COMPONENTE METALICO CONSISTE EN UN METAL DEL GRUPO DEL MOLIBDENO, NIQUEL, HIERRO, TUNGSTENO Y COBRE O EN UNA ALEACION QUE CONTENGA AL MENOS UN METAL DE ESTE GRUPO, DISPONIENDOSE SOBRE DICHO COMPONENTE UNA CAPA QUE TIENE UN GROSOR DE UNO DE LOS METALES DEL MENCIONADO GRUPO. DICHO COMPUESTO DE ALUMINIO SE OXIDA PARCIALMENTE MEDIANTE UN TRATAMIENTO DE CALCINACION A TEMPERATURAS DE 950 A 1200 C. EN UNA ATMOSFERA DE HIDROGENO HUMEDO, CONVIRTIENDOSE TODO EL ALUMINIO EN OXIDO DE ALUMINIO Y OBTENIENDOSE UNA CAPA RESISTENTE TERMICAMENTE NEGRA. SE UTILIZA PARA DAR A UN VASTAGO DE CATODO CON DICHA SUPERFICIE TERMICAMENTE NEGRA.
