EL ANTIBIOTICO ASI OBTENIDO SE TRATA CON UNA MEZCLA DE CLOROFORMO, ETANOL Y AGUA; EL PRODUCTO SE PURIFICA POR CROMATOGRAFIA EN COLUMNA DE GEL DE SILICE ELUYENDO CON UNA MEZCLA DE ACETONITRILO: HCL, CON LO QUE SE RECUPERA EL CLORHIDRATO DEL ANTIBIOTICO A/16686. ESTE ANTIBIOTICO SE CARACTERIZA EN SU FORMA DE CLORHIDRATO POR SER UN MATERIAL BLANCO, CRISTALINO, QUE FUNDE A 224-226GC; SER MUY SOLUBLE EN AGUA, DIMETILFORMAMIDA, METANOL, ETANOL, PROPANOL, BUTANO; INSOLUBLE EN ETER ETILICO, ETER DE PETROLEO Y BENCENO.
